The Coach & Horses

Independently owned by the Meads family for over 50 years, the Coach & Horses comprises of a traditional bar with tile floor, church pews and open fire, a relaxed lounge area perfect for grabbing a casual bite to eat, and a modern, spacious, airy restaurant with full table service serving a range of home cooked lunches designed and curated by our team of chefs.

Situated on the historic Roman Road of Icknield Street, our pub was the first stop from Birmingham to London on the ancient stagecoach route. The building that is now the Weatheroak Hill Brewery was originally the stabling for horses while their passengers enjoyed the hospitality of the Inn, and a grade II listed windmill sits atop Weatheroak Hill. The area features beautiful countryside walks and popular cycle routes, with muddy boots and dogs welcome in the bar area, plus free car parking on site.

If it's an afternoon in our popular sun trap beer garden with one of our 10 real ales and a cheese cob that takes your fancy, or if you're celebrating an occasion with a sit down meal, you're sure to find something you like at the Coach & Horses.

Weatheroak Hill Brewery

Established in 2008, Weatheroak Hill Brewery has been supplying the Coach & Horses with quality beers brewed on site for a decade and a half, travelling a mere 50 meters from grain to glass. We've designed our core range of beers to cater for a wide range of discerning beer drinkers - classic styles like Icknield Pale Ale exist alongside the hazy hoppy Slow Lane and Cofton Common, our Strong Vienna Ale, with seasonals throughout the year. You'll always find our beer well kept in our well maintained cellar, along with a large range of guest ales, plus draught containers to take away.
