Philip and Sheila Meads arrived at the Coach and Horses in 1968 as Manager and Manageress, progressing to Tenants in 1975, achieving the Holy Grail in 1980 by purchasing the Freehold from Bournville Village Trust. In 2004 their son, Gary Meads, joined the team to preserve and continue the successful family business. The Coach itself is in an historic setting, situated on the Roman Road Icknield Street, being the first stop from Birmingham to London on the ancient stagecoach route. The building that is now the Weatheroak Hill Brewery originally was the stabling for horses while their passengers enjoyed the hospitality of the Inn.
